Sharing and collaboration

Comments

Comments let you and your collaborators discuss the whiteboard right where the discussion belongs: pinned to a spot on the canvas or to a specific element.

Add a comment#

  1. Press C, click the Comment button in the left toolbar, or right-click and choose Add Comment
  2. Click anywhere on the canvas, or on an element, to place a pin
  3. Write your first message to start the thread

Anyone with Commenter access or higher can comment; see Roles and permissions.

Threads#

Click a pin to open its thread. From there you can:

  • Reply, and edit or delete your own messages
  • Resolve a thread when it's handled, or reopen it later. Replying to a resolved thread reopens it automatically
  • Drag a canvas pin to reposition it. Pins on elements follow the element when it moves

The comments sidebar#

The sidebar on the right collects every thread on the whiteboard:

  • Open and Resolved tabs to focus on what still needs attention
  • Click a thread card to fly straight to its pin on the canvas
  • Unread indicators show where there's new activity since you last looked
  • General discussion holds conversation that isn't pinned to anything specific

Every thread can be linked to directly. Opening a comment link takes you to the right whiteboard, switches to the right variant, and opens the thread.

Hide comments while presenting#

Toggle Comments off in View settings to hide the pins. Comments are also excluded from exports and public links automatically.
